This blog is all about growth. Join me, Danielle, on the adventure!
For my entire life, I’ve battled stomach pain. Because I knew nothing else, I don’t think I will ever be able to grasp how sick I truly was. Chronic constipation was a constant for me; when I wasn’t constipated I couldn’t get out of the bathroom. I have early memories of extreme acid reflux. Even worse, in fourth grade, head aches were added to my stomach aches and I slept with a throw up bowl next to my bed every night because I was constantly nauseous. As a teenager, I tried adding more fruits and vegetables, drinking herbal tea, and eliminating sugar and dairy from my diet. Although these changes helped, I would still be constipated for weeks, and then throwing up and having diarrhea for days. The cycle repeated. I had countless appointments with a gastrointestinal specialist who tried to understand my digestive system. They ran tests on me with no results. After prayer and tears, my boyfriend, Quentin, introduced me to the vegan way of eating. I had given everything a try, so why not try this one! After just one week of eating vegan, my constipation was gone and a weight was lifted off my stomach. I haven’t looked back once. Praise the Lord!
Going vegan completely changed the way I view food and cooking. I have always loved new tastes, trying new things, and making my own creations, but this was marred by how that same food damaged my body. Learning to cook all over again has been an exciting adventure, and I have fallen back in love with cooking. I will share my recipes with you in my blog, but I will also share some of my failures. This is all about growth, after all!
I am also a student musician. I am currently at a community college, and next fall I will transfer to a University as a music education major, with a focus on voice. I have been singing for my whole life, and started playing guitar and piano when I was thirteen. I will share some of my stories about performances, nerves, and updates on my musical journey with you!
A big part of my life is my faith in Jesus Christ. My service to Him is the greatest adventure of all!
Now, let’s get cooking!
